The First Independent Contest for Riders
For this second session, contest is open for professionals and amateurs, men & women, for the categories snowboard and ski.
There is also a third category: Freestyle. This one is dedicated for all others mountain and freestyle sports such as speedriding, snow kite, freeboard, bike, roller, basejump?
Videos must be uploaded by each participant on the website between December 15 2008 and April 2 2009 including the following procedure shown on the site. A participant is allowed to post only one video per category, and may not change thereafter.
The videos must meet the following criteria:
- File size: Maximum: 720×576 – Minimum: 320×240
- Video Length: 2 minutes
- Maximum size of the file containing the video: 80 MB
- Format of the file containing the video: Windows Media, MPEG, AVI, DIVX or Quicktime
Music
Participants have the opportunity to integrate a music soundtrack to their movie. To do this, the participant can use:
- One of the titles available for free download
- Music from a licensed membership
- Music which is in possession of broadcasting rights and exploitation.
In any case, the participant will need to include in the video the artist name and title of the work used (for example in the credits at the end of the broadcast video)

Votes
For Snowboard and Ski categories:
The 10 videos bringing together the largest number of votes by April 2 2009 at midnight (UTC +1), will be submitted to a jury by the organizing company.
The jury will select the 3 best videos according to 2 criteria: Athletic performance and video direction
For Freestyle category:
The 10 videos garnering the most votes by April 2 will be directly selected for the final.
Internet voting and prizes
Audience is invited to vote online at www.riders-contest.com for their favorite video up to one vote per day, per user, per category and video from April 13 2009 to April 20 2009 midnight (UTC +1).
The results will be announced no later than April 23 2009 online at www.riders-contest.com and winners will be contacted by the organizing company to organize the distribution of prizes won in the contest.
The Prize allocations are as follows:
- A check for ?3000 for each “Professional” winner for the Ski and Snowboard categories (and subcategories for Men / Women if applicable)
- A sponsorship contract with one of our partners, Rossignol, O’Neill, Patagonia, Dakine for each “Amateur” winner with a value of ?1500 (equipment endowment or clothing by categories)
